On October 26, the first Meet Magento UK was held at London’s Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre. About 400 participants, all sponsors and the Magento leadership team were thrilled by the first British Meet Magento event.
Bob Schwartz, president of Magento Inc., and Roy Rubin, CEO of Magento Inc., opened the sold out conference. In his keynote, Roy Rubin highlighted Magento´s milestones and provided information on new Magento products such as Magento Go and the Magento Enterprise premium service, whereas John Lunn, EMEA Director of Innovations of X.Commerce, presented the new open eCommerce ecosystem of X.Commerce as well as details and updates on this exciting and powerful eBay initiative.
All in all, more than 15 speakers discussed the latest topics about the Magento ecosystem. In addition to panel discussions for developers, with lots of tips and tricks for performance issues, the high class program offered various case studies and exciting presentations for merchants on current topic in the field of customer loyalty, conversion rates, and many more. In an exciting closing keynote, attendees also learned within a Q&A session how it will move on with Magento and X.Commerce.
In addition to the extensive program, 15 companies presented their products and services in the dedicated exhibition area, where participants seeked face-to-face dialogues. The after-show party at London´s “Namco Station” marked the crowning glory of the first British Meet Magento event. Next to gaming and battling on pool and air hockey desks, numerous attendees took the opportunity to network with the Magento leadership team and other participants.
Supported by the positive feedback from attendees and sponsors the Meet Magento team is going to continue the success of Meet Magento events in 2012. The exact date for the next Meet Magento UK will be announced soon.
